CriticalAlerts.com - Delivering News to You

The Service

CriticalAlerts.com is a multi-faceted information service designed to transmit (push) the Critical Alerts you select to your Internet connected PC, e-mail, and e-mail capable devices. Such devices include a pager, cellular phone, PCS phone, wireless-enabled Pocket PC, or wireless-enabled Palm OS based device.

Our service is unique when compared to other e-mail based notification services because of the application for your Windows based PC. The Critical Alerts application places a small square icon in your system tray that displays the current terrorist threat condition for the United States. The color-coded threat condition is known officially as the Homeland Security Advisory System, or HSAS. Upon receipt of a near real-time message the system tray icon will flash with a message indicator. Subscribers can log on to user-only areas of the CriticalAlerts.com website to receive more detailed information on select stories.

Since the CriticalAlerts.com service can provide information even behind firewalls it is useful to a wide spectrum of subscribers including:

  • Office workers with limited web or broadcast news access
  • Public safety workers
  • Defense personnel
  • Utilities personnel
  • Airport security personnel
  • Anyone with limited access to a PC or broadcast media

In addition to the near real-time notification application on your PC, CriticalAlerts.com allows the user to define two delivery addresses that will receive Critical Alerts. Typically these would be your regular e-mail address and the address of your phone or pager. CriticalAlerts.com lets the user select the types of Critical Alerts to receive including:

  • Terrorism related events and threats
  • Military related events
  • Major news events
  • Major weather events, and more

These choices can be further filtered to include U.S. events, foreign events, or both.

CriticalAlerts.com maintains a daily updated website with important news and links to stories from journalistic sources around the world. This allows the user to have one source for links to important information about major events.

News Sources

CriticalAlerts.com has a network of public safety, military, and information technology professionals that operate the service. CriticalAlerts.com monitors the major news networks from around the world via satellite, and has a direct EMWIN satellite feed via the United States GOES satellites. This allows for real-time weather related information, and other civil and public safety related statements issued by the United States government. We strive to provide you with information on critical events faster than typically provided by the cable news websites. At no time do we reveal ‘classified’ or secure information, nor will we reveal ‘mission’ or ‘safety’ critical information in our analysis. CriticalAlerts.com is in a position to provide our subscribers with rapid, detailed information from news sources around the world. We monitor breaking events so you don’t have to.

CriticalAlerts.com is planning to enhance the service as we grow to bring subscribers custom weather alert capability for their specific region, time filters to control days of week, times of day that messages are delivered to your e-mail addresses and other subscriber specific customization capabilities.

Critical Alerts strives to be the fastest, most complete information service you can have.
